A senior UN official in Gaza said he has “no idea” where to evacuate civilians from the city of Rafah after a call for help from the Israeli government.
The director of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, said that every time people were ordered to move, this area of Gaza was subsequently attacked .
“People have just been moved from one place to another,” Lazzarini said.
“Every time they were told to go to a certain place, saying, ‘this will be a safer place,’ it has been proven that the place was not safe.
“Then go where? I don’t know,” he said.
