Pennsylvania State Rep. Kevin Boyle (D) was caught on video apparently very intoxicated and engaging in a verbal altercation with patrons and staff at a bar in Montgomery County.
Boyle was reportedly kicked out of Gaul & Co. Malt House in Rockledge, Pennsylvania, but not before literally playing the “do you know who I am?” with employees late last week.
“By the way, I can end this bar, I would end this bar if I wanted to,” the Democrat can be heard shouting. “By the way, you’re all fucking morons.”
The Democrat wasn’t done, however, as he can be heard making more threats and calling staff members “idiots,” “traitors,” and “morons.”
Boyle also accused the waiters of being military agents and suggested it could prevent them from getting promotions in the armed forces.
“This is so aggressive, you can’t talk to me like that, I’ll close your damn bar!” she yelled as he walked out the door. “This bar is finished, do you know who the fuck I am?”

Reports indicate that the bouncer at the bar in question had to call 911 when Boyle began threatening to beat up female members of his staff.
At a semi-funny point in the video, Boyle appears to have a brief moment of clarity and wants to make sure he pays his bill before he leaves.
“Did I pay my bill?” she asked. “I don’t want to be a jerk, but I don’t want to be a jerk either.”
Congratulations. You are both! And honestly, that would make a really good campaign slogan.
At least he didn’t embarrass any family members who might have an interest in his public appearance with his antics. Oh, wait, he’s actually the brother of U.S. Rep. Brendan Boyle, also a Democrat.

The responding police officer informed Democratic Rep. Boyle that he is now banned from the bar. Pennsylvania House Democratic leaders issued a statement on the matter.
“We are aware of a video that is circulating on social networks. It is very worrying. Rep. Boyle has been open about his personal challenges,” a spokesperson for the group wrote. “We are encouraged that our colleague and dear friend is seeking help.”
“Our commitment to providing mental health services does not stop at the steps of the Capitol,” they continue. “One of the main reasons we advocate so strongly for access to mental health is the reality that anyone can and does face challenges, and seeking treatment should be encouraged, not stigmatized.”
I wonder if they would be rooting for a Republican state representative the same way if they had been caught on video acting this way.
Last summer, Boyle co-sponsored legislation expanding access to mental health medications.
As a New Yorker, I can’t help but think that this incident is infinitely less sinister than that of disgraced former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo when he literally threatened bars with closing their doors for not respecting social distancing, something that has since been proven to be a fictitious event. means to stop the spread of COVID.
In fact, he called them and threatened them. By his own admission. Cuomo claimed that he himself called “a couple of bars and restaurants when I saw photos of their situations” and “told them, ‘You’re playing with your (liquor) license.’”
The difference is that Cuomo was sober, made threats for months and did have the power to move forward.
Kevin Boyle might have acted like a “jerk” and a “jerk” in his own words, but at least he probably sobered up the next day.
