Morris’ announcement about her bisexuality comes just months after she finalized her divorce from Ryan Hurd, ending their five-year marriage.

In January, Morris and Hurd concluded a three-month court battle by reaching a “written marital dissolution agreement,” according to court documents obtained by The Blast.

The agreement, which followed the terms of their February 2018 prenuptial agreement, detailed the division of their property and assets.

As part of the agreement, both Morris and Hurd waived their rights to alimony or spousal support from each other.

However, the mother of one was ordered to pay Hurd $2,100 per month in child support, based on their respective monthly gross incomes: Morris earned $210,534 and Hurd earned $41,666.67.

Morris and Hurd also agreed to share joint custody of their young son, and would each have him for 182.5 days a year.

The agreement stipulated that Morris would have custody of the even-numbered holidays, while Hurd would have custody of the odd-numbered days.

This calendar applied to major holidays such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, spring break, and summer break. Critical decisions about Hayes’ religion, education, extracurricular activities and non-emergency medical care would be made jointly.

Additionally, the former couple committed to “conducting each other and each child to provide a loving, stable, consistent and nurturing relationship with the child even though they are divorced.”

The former lovebirds, who divorced in October, began their connection in 2014 by co-writing Tim McGraw’s hit song “Last Turn Home.”

What started as a professional collaboration in 2014 turned into a beautiful love story the following year, captivating the hearts of many.

Morris and Hurd then got engaged in 2017 and married in an intimate ceremony in Nashville in 2018. For much of their marriage, they maintained a long-distance relationship, with the “My Church” singer openly discussing their struggles.

In an interview, Morris talked about being inspired by Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban’s successful long-distance relationship. In his words:

“I’ve learned a lot from Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman. They have the two-week rule.”
