Fox News Legal Analyst Greg Jarrett: Trump Held To Different Standard, ‘Hillary Clinton Did The Same Thing’

Donald Trump’s alleged “hush money” case began this week and was prosecuted by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, but Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett is calling bullshit.

Jarrett says the former president is being held to a completely different standard due to the fact that Hillary Clinton did “pretty much the same thing” but was not dragged into court for it.

Clinton was never prosecuted for her campaign paying for the now-debunked Steele Dossier, which allegedly showed Trump colluding with Russia during the 2016 presidential election.

‘But your last name is Trump’

On Monday, Trump appeared in court for allegedly paying porn actress Stormy Daniels $130,000. The payment was allegedly part of a confidentiality agreement during the 2016 election.

But Hillary Clinton never went to court.

“Hillary Clinton did pretty much the same thing,” Jarrett said on ‘Fox and Friends.’ “She also used a lawyer to secretly pay for the fake Steele Dossier and record it as legal expenses. The FEC fined her, but did not prosecute her, nor did Barack Obama, despite being fined a whopping $375,000 for hiding donors and keeping illegal contributions.”

“But, if your last name is Trump, the standard of justice is completely different and upside down,” Jarrett added.

Double standards and hypocrisy across the board

Jarrett also said the judge in Trump’s case was guilty of his own double standards, overseeing a “tangled and tortuous prosecution.”

“(Bragg) had to tie it to an alleged violation of election law, well it’s not,” Jarrett said of Trump’s case. “The Federal Election Commission investigated and said this is perfectly legal. “It is not a campaign donation.”

“The Department of Justice concluded that there is no crime here,” he added. “But, you know, enter Alvin Bragg, who is bringing charges under federal law even though he is a local prosecutor and has no jurisdiction or authority to do so. But the judge allows him to get away with it.”

It may not be too late for Donald Trump to change his last name to Clinton or Biden.
