Pitt and Jolie are on track to resolve their divorce after filing separately final disclosure statements on Thursday, February 8. This basically means that each party has handed over all of its financial information to the other.

It is nothing new that having all the financial information is key for two parties to determine what an agreement or spousal support will look like in a case. For most celebrity divorces, this is usually the last filing before a settlement is reached, and the two parties go their separate ways.

A source close to the situation told The Blast that an announcement would not be made in the next week, but confirmed that this is the latest step in that direction. As you can imagine, this is a very delicate situation for both parties and their attorneys.

For the former couple, who many refer to as “Brangelina,” this is particularly a sigh of relief for both parties, given that they have been at odds over their $500 million French vineyard, Château Miraval.

Jolie and Pitt owned equal shares of the vineyard, but things became contentious when the “Maleficent” actress sold her share to Yuri Shefler, owner of the Russian vodka giant Stoli, even though they both agreed never to sell the vineyard if they They divorced.

The latest positive update on the couple’s lengthy divorce comes after Pitt reportedly scored a major victory regarding his argument that he should have a majority stake. A source confirmed that the actor is on track to recover the 10% he gave Jolie and will maintain control of the property.

Before marrying in 2014, the couple bought the property together, with Pitt owning 60 percent and Jolie 40 percent. However, after the union, Pitt gifted Jolie an additional 10 percent as a wedding gift, making it a 50-50 asset.

In a recent development, the court reportedly ruled that, for now, 10 percent remains in escrow until there is a final ruling.

“It’s like the equivalent of an escrow… it’s not a final decision,” the source said, “For now, he’s keeping a 60/40 (split)… he’s keeping control of this probably until another year, or further”.

In July, the “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” actor accused his ex-wife of a hostile takeover of the expensive vineyard.

In documents obtained by The Blast, Pitt alleged that “Jolie and Nouvel were obligated not to sell interests in a private family home and wine business without (Brad’s) consent.” However, they did so secretly through an alleged sale to Tenute del Mondo, an entity controlled by Russian oligarch Yuri Shetler. The defendants have since attempted a hostile takeover of the business.”

Jolie, however, did not accept the explosive accusations and her legal team responded: “Mrs. Jolie maintains that (Brad’s) causes of action are Frivolous, malicious and part of a problematic pattern.. “Pitt’s allegations that he and Ms. Jolie had a secret, unwritten, tacit agreement for the right to consent to the sale of their property interests are directly contrary to the written record.”

In addition to the former couple not agreeing with the majority ownership of Château Miraval, there are problems with the custody of their three youngest children: Shiloh, Knox and Vivienne.

Brad Pitt challenges Angelina Jolies' victory in child custody case

Last October, the actress emphasized the need for specialized training for judges to ensure fair and informed handling of custody matters. It so happened that the judge presiding over her custody proceedings allegedly showed apparent favoritism toward her ex-husband.

Jolie had a meeting with Los Angeles Judge John Ouderkirk, who denied her children the opportunity to testify about the domestic violence they suffered at the hands of their father. Apparently, the retired private judge presided over her wedding and decreed in May 2021 that they would share custody of their children equally.

As a result, the mother of six implored Governor Gavin Newsom, in a heartfelt two-page letter, to advocate for making domestic violence training mandatory for judicial professionals.

An agreement is expected to be announced shortly.
